The Spring Seminar with Bruce Owens

    Many of you took atvantage of the Spring Seminar March 20th at Curt Shahan's Woodland Wonders Taxidermy Studio where master taxidermist and instructor Bruce Owens demonstrated his method for mounting a mallard from start to finish. Nearly 30 people were in attendance, and I think everyone will agree the seminar was both interesting and informative. Bruce is a very accomplished taxidermist winning several major awards over the years including two Best of Show awards. He owns and operates Wild Trophies Taxidermy School in Winfield, MO where he offers beginner and advanced courses in all areas of taxidermy.
    In addition to the seminar, Doug and Tim's famous BBQ Pork Steaks were on the menu, along with Christine's just-as-famous macaroni. On behalf of the MTA, thank you Bruce for taking the time to teach some members the "Owens Method" of waterfowl taxidermy. Also, thank you Doug and Tim for cooking, and thank you Curt for the use of your shop once again.
